
FLICK FERDINANDO
has been Creator and Director for mimbre for all shows up to ‘07, she is resident co-writer director for Strangelings. She has been involved in The Circus Space, London as Artistic Director for the BTEC final year. Tutor for the NMEC Dome project, Head of Theatre moving onto Artistic Advisor for the BA hons in Circus Arts, responsible for shaping the artistic programme and productions, developing circus theatre practice. She left this post in 2005, since then has returned to create a cabaret for the graduation acts. She completed the circus practice course for Cardboard Citizens creating the final show A Cabinet of Shameless Acts. She is also a freelance performer with her cabaret act A Tribute to Margot Fonteyn as seen in the Besame Mucho Cabaret, also performing with Peepolykus in Rhinocerus and Spyski also creating ‘Flick and John’s Wood Club’ for Edinburgh Fringe ’05, Blast, The World Famous, Crackers, The World Famous for Sydney Festival, Singapore Festival. She has directed several solo and ensemble companies in physical theatre and comedy including, The Dirty Nans for Chrysalis TV, Ernesto Tomasini for Edinburgh Fringe. Green Ginger internationally acclaimed puppet theatre with Rust, Marisa Carnesky in Magic War for Soho Theatre. Re direction Caravan of Desires for Spiral Flight, re direction Shall We Dance for Ragroof Theatre. Kim Noble in Kim Noble Must Die for Brown Eyed Boy Productions. She has created and performs in a touring show Kissing Cousins.
Flick’s training has included, Foundation Fine Art Salisbury Art College, seven years with the Salisbury Playhouse Youth Theatre, Ballet and Contemporary dance from a toddler through to adolescance. Fool Time, Centre for Circus and Performing Arts Bristol, training with Guy Dartnell, Nola Rae, Nigel Charnock, Franki Anderson, Helen Crocker. Other workshop training includes Peta Lily, Gerry Flanagan, Mark Murphy, Improbable Theatre leading to initial performance of Sticky.
She regularly mentors for Circus and Theatre practitioners
She is on the Advisory Board for The Circus Space, London and on the Board of the Total Theatre Awards.
