WE CAN BE HEROES: TECHNICAL RIDER

Stage

The show needs a minimum stage space of 11m by 10m with a grid height of 8m.

We will need 4 leg masking flats/ curtains each side (see ground plan). And a border to hang the full width of the space with a drop of 2m.

We will need enough black dance floor to cover the stage. Part of the stage will be covered with some foam tiles. The dance floor will sit ontop of this floor.

We will need the theatre to supply 7 slotted counter weights. If it is not possible to screw into the theatre floor we will need an additional 22 counter weights or 15 stage weights.

The stage is set   with a lot of wool strands, stretched across the stage. They are in from the start of the show. Please let me know if this has an impact on emergency evacuation procedures.

 

Rigging

We will need to fly 11 m of box truss above the downstage area (see plan for exact location). This will need to fly on 3 or 4 chain blocks (depending on available points). This truss will be taking the weight of 2 people so needs very secure points. Please ensure that there are suitable points available for such a loading. We will also need to brace this truss sideways. Please let me know if there are not suitable tie off points available. If nothing is available we my need to fix expanding bolts into the wall. Please inform me if this is not possible or the walls are not structuraly sound.

Other rigging includes 5 frames which are flown on our own counter weight system. (3 upstage and 2 midstage. The downstage pair fly off our own truss). The pullies for these systems will be bought in on our own scaff bars which either need to attach to/ and fly out on the venues own fly bars, or we will attach pullies to any fixed bars and haul them out. The distance between bars, weather for lx or rigging, is fairly critical, so please inform me if there are limitations on lighting/rigginng bar positions.

 

Sound

The show reqires 2 cd players and one hand held radio mic. We will also need onstage monitors.

(act 2 opens with a performer walking down through the auditorium. If it were possible to have a small follow spot available that could be operated from the lighting box, this would be an added bonus)

 

Video

We will need an video projector with enough throw to cover the width of the stage and a dvd player with enough cable to link the two.

(The company might be buying/ renting these bit of kit, we will let you know)

 

Crew/ FitUp

The show will tour with a crew of two. We will require 2lx and 2 stage for the fit up and then one show op to operate lights/ sound. The show will need a minimum of a day and a half to fitup. (An Lx pre-rig would be ideal but we understand that this is not always possibel.) The strike should take   no longer than 3 hours depending on access to vehicle and weather we have flying bars.

 

Company

There are 2 performers in the show. They will require one heated dressing room with showers available.

 

If any of the above is not possible please get in touch. Some compramise is always possible but obviously anything that detracts from the production itself is not possible.
